I have something to tell you...

Hi there folks!
I'm glad you are reading here today, but I must confess, this post will have almost no true education content! If you are still reading this bare with me while a ramble for a quick minute!!

Boy, I finally found a spare moment to blog.....who am I kidding, I have a list a mile long of things to do, dirty dishes calling my name and master's homework that needs to be done but, all that can wait!! I have something to tell you.

If you are loyal follower of mine or just a fellow teacher who stumbled upon my blog post today, you may (or may not) have noticed that I've been bloggy-absent for a while.... a month and three days to be exact, but who's counting, right!?!

Well, I've been a bit busy, to say the least!
Let me catch you up with what I've been doing... and not doing!

About three months ago, my husband and I received some news.  If you've been following me for a while, you know that we are a military family.  My husband has been active duty Air Force for 11 years now. Well, sometime in September we were informed that yes, it was our time again---time to pack everything up and move! And not just any move...but a move that requires getting a passport and visa...yep, you guessed it....we got order to move overseas! In less than 90 days now, our family will be moving overseas to England!!

(Deep breath, Liz, deep breath!)
Before you ask, yes, I am very overwhelmed.
My mind has been on overdrive for months and my mind is spinning! I am VERY uncertain about what the future holds, how everything will work out, how we will sell our house in time, how we will find a house over there, how my kids will handle of this, and the list goes on and on!!!! I am learning, everyday, that I have got to stop worrying. Everything will happen when it's supposed to, in the way it's supposed to....

I think about it, pray about it, and try to let it go!

I tell you all of this to let you know that I'm not sure what the future hold for me as a teacher, a blogger and a TpT creator! As of now, my plan is to take a year off from teaching in order to get our housing situation straighten out, travel like crazy and be a stay at home mom.  I will continue to blog, but instead of a teacher, maybe more of a volunteer in my daughter's school. And yes, I will continue to create resources for TpT. Since kindergarten is all I know, I imagine that's where I will continue my focus all of my creations!

As of now, we are due to leave during the week of spring break. I have a found an amazing long term sub who I am certain, will love my school babies the way that I do!

So, I hope that you will continue to support me as a blogger, TpT creator, teacher/school volunteer, and whatever else the future holds for me!

Thank you for all of your love and support over the past year and a half!!
I will keep you updated on my overseas journey and until we move, I will keep blogging about my classroom adventures!

  4. awww England is awesome with so much history! It will be a fun, exciting (even though a bit scary) adventure. You can travel cheaper around Europe & see the world! I'm envious. Glad we will still see ya around in cyberworld. I will pray for everything to work out with selling/finding a house & the move. It will all work out I am sure of it! :) Best wishes! :))

  5. Wow, that is a big change for you, but what a wonderful opportunity for your family to live overseas. If it comforts you at all, the son (and wife and child and child to be) of friends of our's were just sent to England with the Air Force. She is also a teacher, taking time out of the classroom to be with her child (soon to be children). They have been there since summer, and are thriving and enjoying living in a new country. I wish you all the best - hang in there, knowing there is a plan even if you can't see it. The word for 2014 appears to be FAITH... so I wish you faith and peace and courage. Blog when you can so we can follow your journey :-)

  6. Worrin impedes joy. No worring, just enjoy the journey that life has offered you. Trust in God and believe in your prayers. All is well.

  7. i am so excited for you and your family. Just remember to breathe and enjoy the ride.
we will be here to support and love you.

  8. Congratulations!!! That is so exciting!!! I'm an Army wife of 11 years and teach on the base so I completely understand. We just put in a request to move to Italy so we will see what happens. We've never been overseas before and I'm a little nervous. Keep us posted on your adventures! I am excited to read them all and see pictures :)

  9. Wow Elizabeth what an exciting adventure! I'm sure you are nervous but what a great opportunity for you all! I can't wait to read about your adventures in England!

  10. Good luck Elizabeth! I wish my AF hubby would get stationed in England, I've always wanted to have adventures over there (but I can't imagine making the move with kids!) Keep us posted!

  11. How awesome! I'm very excited for you!

  12. You are going to LOVE going to England. My husband has been in the Air Force for 23 years so far. Relax and enjoy this time with your family. You will meet friends over there who will become like second family...ENJOY the time!! Please keep using your talent to create the wonderful resources for TPT that you do (that is me being selfish..hehehe). It is HARD to put your career on hold, but being a military wife you will do that often. Relax and enjoy the time because you WILL be okay and do just fine (you will miss being in the classroom but volunteer as much as possible 1. it will give you something to do until you meet people 2. you will meet people 3.it could help you get a position). I wish you the best of luck!! Relax and try to enjoy this time in your life and not worry. Things WILL work out..;)

  13. Best of luck to you, Elizabeth. Although overwhelming right now, it will be a wonderful experience for your family. Hang in there...there will be a light at the end. Take care.

  14. Wow! What an adventure! You will have to find a "flat!" My brother (was military) and his wife did that BC (before children) and loved it! Thanks for all you do and a big thanks to your husband for keeping us all safe! I can offer my prayers for your strength for your family!! I think it will be a great adventure for your kids, too...Here's hoping! Good luck! :)
