The big day is almost here....

Well, life is getting crazy!
Our district starts school tomorrow!!! That's right- it's time for all of those wonderful faces to return back to their second home, and I couldn't be happier to see my "old" kinders! We had meet the teacher night on Monday and it felt so good to see all of my kiddos from last year. Man, how do kids grow so much in 2 months??? Seriously, some kids really sprouted up! And of course, it was just as equally wonderful to all of our new faces for this year.  There were so many nervous smiles and many anxious mama's.

While everyone else will be starting school tomorrow, we won't! We do kindergarten testing for the first two days of school so that we can more evenly divide up all of our kids. This way, we all get an even mix of kids and abilities. It's kind of crazy to not really start the first day with everyone else but it works for us!

I think my room is ALMOST ready! I have a few minor things to finish up and then I'm calling it good---for a while anyways! I am pretty pleased with how it has turned out. I was worried about how the whole jungle thing was going to go but it's really starting to grow on me! I will do a picture tour soon of my room.

I also wanted to share with you a few things I bought from TpT during the back to school sale--they are pretty fabulous items!
  1. Caitlin Clabby's, Our Five Senses unit. This one is great too! We are going to be doing a whole week centered around the five senses and this was a must for me! Not only is she such a sweet and hard working lady, her products are AMAZING! Put it in your shopping cart if you haven't already!  http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Our-Five-Senses
  2. Deanna Jump's Math Magic. If you remember from some of my summer posts, I saw her at the kindergarten conference this summer in Vegas. This was one of the units she showcased and yes, it is as awesome as you think it is! http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Math-Magic-Common-Core-Games-and-Activities-Set-1
  3. Deanna Jump's Alphapalooza. Again, I got to see this product first hand in Vegas and it's wonderful.  It's packed with many great activities that I'll use all year.    http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Alphapalooza-Phonemic-Awareness-and-Phonics-Fun

Well, I'm off to have a sleepless night I'm sure.
I still get so nervous--- is that ever going to end??? I hope not.
It's oddly calming to me- weird, I know!

Do you start soon? Are you all ready for your kids?

  2. Thanks so much for the shout out :) I hope your students have fun with the five senses!! I love how your school tests the kinders and splits them from there. Our school doesn't do that and the classes are SO uneven! I would love to test the first two days!

    1. Yeah, I think testing them ahead of time does make it easier! Plus we get a good baseline for them all before any instruction starts- a true look at what they really know!

I can't wait to purchase more of your goodies!!
