Throwback Thursday~ Making Pins Into Magnets!

Today I'm doing a "Throwback Thursday" post!
A few year ago I found some really cute pins that I wanted as magnets....so I changed them! Read all about it below! :)

I hope that you can find a little inspiration here to be creative too!

The time is here!
Tomorrow is the day the teachers in my district report back to school!

While I'm not ready for the hours and hours of Professional Development meetings, I am ready to greet all of the new kiddos!

I've been working like a busy-working bee in my room!!
I'm so excited with how it's all turning out!
I was skeptical with all of the ocean decor (ocean is our school wide theme) but I think it's all starting to come together! Yay!!

A little project that I did today was unexpected but it turned out so cute!  I couldn't be happier with it!

Here's the back story: My son has been running a fever, we ran out of medicine so I decided to run by Walgreens before I went to work.  While at Walgreens, I *HAD* to walk through the school supply isle....you know that no teacher can deny a simple walk through an isle of brightly colored, nicely organized shelves of new school supplies!!!  While I was briskly walking though, I spotted the cutest pillows ever--look!!
I told you they were cute!!

After I stuffed those two pillows into my basket, I spotted my next my next great find--these adorable pins!
At first I thought they were magnets, which I was so excited about!  I always need cute magnet.  Imagine my surprise when I discovered that they were pins- whomp whomp whomp!!! (Insert sad face!)
Then it dawned on me, why don't I just MAKE them into magnets-duh!!!
So that's just what I did!

So first I turned them over and evaluated what I would need.
I found a heavy duty metal cutter and got to work removing all of the fasteners!
This is what they all looked like with the backing a removed.
All the trash!
I then got out the heavy duty magnets and the hot glue gun.
I glued the two parts together!
And here is the final product!
Voilà!!
They also go perfect with my new magnetic storage bags too!! Yay!

So just remember, if you find some cute pins, it super easy to turn them into beautiful magnets!! All you need is 10 minutes, some metal cutters, magnets and some hot glue!

  1. Absolutely adorable! I may just have to steal this idea! And I live just around the corner from a Walgreens so I go in there constantly and can never resist the school supply aisle!
