Our outside classroom!

How are you today?
Summer vacation is so close that I can almost taste!
We only have about 2 1/2 days left and then we have to tell her kiddos by for the summer.  It is a double edged sword, because as tired as I am and I want to have a break for the summer, I'm going to miss group of kiddos like crazy.

So what do you do when the weather turned so pretty outside and you just need to get out the classroom? You take the classroom outside of course.

We decided it was time to practice a little math….But we took the math outside! My teammates and I decided to let the kids practice simple addition using chalk on our playground. Ended and of course the kids thought they were in heaven! They really enjoyed being able to get outside do a little work and soak up some sun all of the same time.

Take a look at some of our kindergartners practicing their addition. They did great!

  1. Perfect! Tomorrow is O for Outdoor learning on our countdown and I hadn't figured out what to do yet. I figured that sidewalk chalk would be involved. Math facts are a great idea! Thanks!

  3. This is such a great and simple idea! I have tons of chalk that we never seem to use! I may try this at the beginning of the year with alphabet letters :)
