I'm so HOT...and it's circle time!

Dang I am HOT!
Whew!!

No for real, I'm hot... like hot hot...like temperature hot! Why you ask?? Because I've been without air conditioning in my classroom since school has started--which has been 12 days now!

I don't know how anyone willingly teaches in schools with no AC---I think I would melt to death!!

I'm not one to usually complain but dang...I'm hot and sweaty and just plain out cranky!! My kids all feel the same way too.  By the end of the day, we are all so tired and all of the kids are on each others nerves--- because as we know, heat doesn't make ANY situation any easier!

And bless the heart of any air conditioning man that enters our building! If I see an AC man in the hallway, I flag him down asking if any progress has been made. And heaven help any AC man that walks into my room to mess with my wall unit--- I nag him to death asking for the latest update and what I can do to help the situation--- which is always a big fat "nothing ma'am"! Well, it's worth a try right???

Anyhow, I tell you that whole story to now show you this picture! (Please don't laugh to hard!)
That's right---that me and my whole class laying on the floor of our lunchroom! The entire school has air conditioning except for our room....so we decided to follow the cold air!  I decided on the lunchroom since it has really cold air and I knew the linoleum would feel good on our skin!

After we relished in the air and even colder floor, we got busy on our math lesson for the day!
In math we've started learning about shapes! Our first shape is the circle and I made these worksheets to help my kiddos!

Here are a few pictures of my kids working on these sheets today!

And just incase you were wondering, look how well my kids worked the whole time we were in the lunchroom!  These pictures were not staged...I think the cold air calmed them down--and I loved it! :)
They were all such good little worker-bees!

I'll leave you with this funny cartoon as it pertains to my classroom!

  2. I am so sorry to hear about your air conditioning! That happened to my class last year for the last week of school. It got up to 105 degrees in my classroom. It is horrible to be without air when it is so stinking hot outside. I hope it is fixed soon for you guys!!!!

  3. Oh my gosh I loved that picture on the floor! I can relate! We had our Kindergarten picnic last night - and it was SO HUMID and all the parents and kids were in the room- and even with the fans- it was only blowing around the hot, sweaty air. We don't have air conditioning in our school. :( I felt my hair getting progressively more clown like... Hope you get some cooooool air soon!

  5. I can totally relate. I teach in Florida and we started the school year out with no air conditioning. What made it worse was when the custodian said it was acting "funny" all summer while they were cleaning our building. Did she do anything about it then???? Nope, waited until 120 kindergartners started school and then called for repairs. We spent a few days in the cafeteria also but really couldn't "conduct business" because we had 6 classes in there all at the same time. uggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg
